Projects

What I have built, and what it shows.

Four systems, all in use. One for a client, three for my own business, where I carry the risk myself if something does not work. For each: the problem, what was built, and what it says about working with me.

Learning app for XMandarin

The problem

XMandarin, a Chinese language school in Qingdao, handed out PDFs and ran homework through chat groups. Between lessons, nobody could see who was still practising.

What was built

  • A learning app under the school’s own name, as a web app that installs on the home screen
  • 10 modules, from flashcards and quizzes to listening, homework and placement tests
  • 11,000+ vocabulary items across 7 levels, loaded from the school’s own material
  • A teacher view of every learner’s progress

What it shows

A finished product a school uses every day, with 250+ students registered. It is also where the Mikavo learning platform comes from.

CRM and sales automation

The problem

Selling to schools in several countries means thousands of possible customers, different legal rules for cold email in every market, and a mailbox that gets blocked if it sends too much too fast.

What was built

  • 14,000+ schools in eight countries in one database, each with its status and full history
  • Country rules in the rule layer itself: markets where cold email is not allowed can never be emailed
  • Sending through Microsoft Graph with a daily limit, a window in the recipient’s time zone and a stop on bounces
  • Reply detection that tells real answers from out-of-office notes in six languages and stops the sequence
  • A hosted dashboard with pipeline, inbox, campaigns and a LinkedIn workflow

What it shows

Data, rules, scheduled jobs and integrations in one system that runs unattended, with safety brakes that matter more than the sending itself.

Market analysis tool

The problem

Data on stocks, cryptocurrencies and commodities is spread across dozens of sources, and most tools show forecasts without ever checking whether they came true.

What was built

  • A daily analysis of around 1,800 instruments: trend, risk, fundamentals, analyst revisions, macro indicators and news
  • A local web interface with screener, portfolio view, paper portfolio and backtest
  • A forecast log: every signal is recorded and compared with the real outcome after one, three and six months
  • A scheduled daily run with desktop alerts

What it shows

Pulling many unreliable sources into one consistent picture, and measuring honestly whether a system works. The tool openly reports where its own forecasts are weak.

A personal tool. It places no orders, gives no investment advice and is not offered as a service.

Automations and alerts

The problem

A one-person business cannot keep checking dashboards. The important things, a new enquiry, a site that is down, a school that opened the demo, have to find me instead.

What was built

  • A weekly report on the phone every Monday: website visits, demo opens and replies
  • An uptime monitor every two hours that only sends a message when a status changes
  • Contact-form enquiries delivered to the phone within seconds, as a backup for spam filters
  • A privacy-friendly visit counter without cookies or IP addresses

What it shows

Small, reliable automations that save a few minutes every day and make sure nothing important goes unnoticed. The kind of work most small businesses need first.
